23233-247 Abstract The use of hydrocarbon-rich gels as fracturing fluids is disclosed. The gels are composed of 50 to 99.5% by weight of hydrocarbon, 0.01 to 15% by weight of surfactant and 0.49 to 35% by weight of water. The facturing fluids according to the invention are comprised of 40 to 99.9% by weight of a gel and 0.1 to 60% by weight of an auxiliary, such as sand and bentonites.
