A method of synthesizing hydrocarbons from smaller hydrocarbons includes the steps of hydrocarbon halogenation, simultaneous oligornerization and hydrogen halide neutralization, and product recovery, with a metal-oxygen cataloreactant used to facilitate carbon-carbon coupling. Treatment with air or oxygen liberates halogen and regenerates the cataloreactant.

Cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de synthétiser des hydrocarbures à partir d'hydrocarbures inférieurs, lequel procédé comprend les étapes consistant: à halogéner un hydrocarbure; à effectuer simultanément l'oligomérisation et la neutralisation d'un halogénure d'hydrogène; puis à récupérer le produit à l'aide d'un cataloréactif métal-oxygène utilisé pour faciliter le couplage carbone-carbone. Le traitement avec de l'air ou de l'oxygène sert à libérer l'halogène et à régénérer le cataloréactif.
