A heavy hydrocarbon oil, a substantial portion of which boils above 524°C, is subjected to hydrocracking with a fractionated heavy oil recycle stream containing active additive particles. In the process, a slurry feed of (1) fresh heavy hydrocarbon oil feedstock and a heavy hydrocarbon recycle and (2) from about 0.01-4% by weight (based on fresh feedstock) of iron sulphate additive particles having sizes less than 45 µm, is passed upwardly through a confined vertical hydrocracking zone. A mixed effluent is removed from the top of the hydrocracking zone, which is then passed through a hote separator vessel. From the bottom of the separator is withdrawn a liquid heavy hydrocarbon stream comprising heavy hydrocarbons and particles of the iron sulphate additive converted mainly to an iron sulphide phase. This separated liquid heavy hydrocarbon stream is fractionated to obtain a heavy oil which boils above 450°C, containing the additive particles. The fractionated heavy oil containing the additive particles is then recycled to and mixing with the hydrocracking zone feed slurry in an amount up to 40% by weight of the combined feed slurry.
Une fraction d'hydrocarbures lourds, dont une partie importante bout au-dessus de 524 degrés C, est soumise à un hydrocraquage avec un circuit de recyclage d'hydrocarbures lourds fractionnés, renfermant des particules d'addition actives. Dans ce procédé, on fait passer une suspension épaisse constituée d'une (1) alimentation fraîche d'hydrocarbures lourds et d'une fraction recyclée d'hydrocarbures lourds, ainsi que (2) d'environ 0,01-4 % en poids (basé sur l'alimentation fraîche) de particules d'addition de sulfate de fer, mesurant moins de 45 microns, vers le haut à travers une zone d'hydrocraquage verticale confinée. Un effluent mixte est retiré de l'extrémité supérieure de cette zone, puis envoyé dans un contenant séparateur à haute température. Du bas du séparateur, on retire un flux d'hydrocarbures liquides lourds, renfermant des hydrocarbures lourds et des particules du sulfate de fer d'addition, converti principalement en une phase de sulfure de fer. Ce flux d'hydrocarbures liquides lourds ainsi séparé est fractionné pour l'obtention d'huiles lourdes à point d'ébullition supérieur à 450 degrés C, contenant les particules d'additif. Les huiles lourdes fractionnées, contenant les particules d'additif, sont ensuite recyclées et mélangées avec la suspension épaisse dans la zone d'hydrocraquage, où elles peuvent représenter jusqu'à 40 % en poids de ladite suspension épaisse combinée.
