19 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Improved yields of distillable oil (-525°C fraction) are obtained from heavy crude oil by hydrocracking using powdered ammonium paramolybdate as the catalyst. Powdered molybdenum metal may be substituted for the ammonium paramolybdate.
