ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Fluid separator apparatus comprises at least one cyclone for separating a fraction of a less dense component or components from predominantly fluid mixtures having at least one predominantly liquid component. The cyclone or cyclones is or are provided with at least one feed inlet, at least one overflow outlet for discharge of overflow comprising a predominantly less dense component or components of the fluid mixtures, at least one underflow outlet for discharge of underflow comprising a predominantly denser component or components of the fluid mixtures, and an overflow conduit to receive and conduct the overflow away from the cyclone. The overflow conduit is connected securably to the overflow outlet of the cyclone. A support plate for supporting the cyclone or cyclones is in the form of a plate of pre-selected dimensions adapted to securably but releasably receive the body or bodies of the cyclone or cylcones. A receiving and transport element receives and transports the overflow away from the overflow conduit said receiving and transport element being connected securably but releasably to the overflow conduit. Additionally, the support means may form part of or be located on or within a pressure retaining vessel enclosing at least part of the cyclone or cyclones.
