PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: Procédé d'hydrodéalkylation catalytique d'hydrocarbures alkylaromatiques effectué à une température comprise entre 400 et 650° C, sous une pression comprise entre 1 et 30 kg/cm2, la vitesse spatiale étant comprise entre 1 et 10 et le rapport d'hydrogène sur hydrocarbure, exprimé en mole par mole à la sortie du réacteur étant compris entre 1 et 10, caractérisé en ce que l'on opère en présence d'un catalyseur renfermant essentiellement: a) au moins un métal choisi dans le groupe constitué par le ruthénium, l'osmium, le palladium, le rhodium, l'irridium, le platine et le manganèse, et b) de l'alumine, la teneur pondérale du catalyseur en métal étant comprise entre 0,05 et 5 % et la surface spécifique du catalyseur étant com- prise entre 1 et 100 m2/g.
