A process for the hydrodesulfurization of petroleum streams is disclosed wherein the sulfur containing petroleum stream is contacted along with hydrogen at a partial pressure of less than 70 psig in a distillation column reactor containing a hydrodesulfurization catalyst in the form of a catalytic distillation structure.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'hydrodésulfuration de flux de pétrole consistant à mettre en contact le flux de pétrole contenant du soufre avec de l'hydrogène, à une pression partielle inférieure à 70 psig, dans un réacteur de colonne de distillation contenant un catalyseur d'hydrodésulfuration sous forme d'une structure de distillation catalytique.
