A hydraulically entangled nonwoven composite structure that includes a matrix of substantially continuous filaments; and recycled synthetic fibers and fiber- like materials having at least one thread element composed of synthetic material with at least one irregular distortion generated by hydraulic fracture of the thread element to separate it from a bonded fibrous material while the bonded fibrous material is suspended in a liquid. This nonwoven composite structure may be used as a wiper or an absorbent material. A method of forming the nonwoven composite structure includes the steps of: (a) providing a layer of recycled synthetic fibers and fiber-like materials having at least one thread element composed of synthetic material containing at least one irregular distortion generated by hydraulic fracture of the thread element to separate it from a bonded fibrous material while the bonded fibrous material is suspended in a liquid; (b) superposing the layer of recycled fibers and fiber-like materials over a layer of substantially continuous filaments; (c) hydraulically entangling the layers to form a nonwoven web; and (d) drying the web.
L'invention concerne une structure composite non-tissée hydrauliquement entremêlée qui comprend une matrice de filaments essentiellement continus et des fibres synthétiques recyclées et des matériaux de type fibreux possédant au moins un élément tissé composé de matériau synthétique et pourvu d'au moins une distorsion irrégulière produite par la fracture hydraulique de l'élément tissé afin de le séparer d'un matériau fibreux lié alors que ce matériau fibreux lié est en suspension dans un liquide. Cette structure composite non-tissée peut servir de matériau absorbant ou d'essuyage. Un procédé de formation de la structure composite non-tissée consiste à : (a) produire une couche de fibres synthétiques recyclées et des matériaux de type fibreux possédant au moins un élément tissé composé de matériau synthétique contenant au moins une distorsion irrégulière produite par une fracture hydraulique de l'élément tissé afin de le séparer du matériau fibreux lié alors que ce matériau fibreux lié est en suspension dans un liquide; (b) superposer la couche de fibres recyclées et de matériaux de type fibreux sur une couche de filaments essentiellement continus; (c) entremêler de manière hydraulique les couches afin de composer une toile non-tissée; (d) enfin, sécher la toile.
