A hydroforming assembly (10) has a plurality of die structures (20, 21) that are mounted on a press for reciprocating movement between open and closed conditions. The die structures have cooperating die surfaces (22) defining a die cavity (23) when in the closed condition and receive a metallic tube blank (24) when in the open conditions. A hydroforming fluid supply system has tube-end engaging structures (25) that are movable to selectively and sealingly engage opposite ends of the tube blank. The hydroforming fluid supply system provides pressurized fluid into an interior of the tube blank (24) in order to expand the tube blank outwardly into conformity with the die cavity (23). A punch (52) extends within a passage (51) of at least one of the die structures. The punch (52) is movable between retracted and extended positions. A punch driving assembly (54) drives the punch between the retracted and extended positions to punch a hole into the expanded tube blank. A flushing system (30) communicates with the die cavity (23) providing a flushing fluid flow through the interior of the expanded tube blank.
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'hydroformage (10) comportant une pluralité de structures de moule (20, 21) montées sur une presse de manière à décrire un mouvement de va-et-vient entre des positions ouverte et fermée. Les structures de moule présentent des surfaces de moule (22) en interaction définissant une cavité de moule (32) en position fermée, et reçevant une ébauche de tube métallique (24) en position ouverte. Un système d'alimentation de fluide d'hydroformage comporte des structures (25) en prise avec les extrémités du tube, pouvant être déplacées afin d'entrer en prise de manière sélective et étanche avec des extrémités opposées de l'ébauche de tube. Ledit système d'alimentation de fluide d'hydroformage alimente un fluide pressurisé dans l'intérieur d'une ébauche de tube (24) afin d'expanser ladite ébauche de tube en conformité avec la cavité de moulage (23). Un poinçon (52) s'étend dans un passage (51) d'au moins une des structures de moule. Ledit poinçon (52) peut être déplacé entre des positions rétractée et étendue. Un dispositif d'entraînement de poinçon (54) entraîne le poinçon entre les positions rétractée et étendue de manière qu'il réalise un trou dans l'ébauche de tube expansée. Un système de rinçage (30) communique avec la cavité de moule (23) afin de mettre en oeuvre un courant de liquide de rinçage dans l'intérieur de l'ébauche de tube expansée.
