A chitosan support material is made with cross-linking and installation of a spacer arm between the chitosan matrix and an epoxy terminal group at the distal end of the spacer arm. Among other things, the installed spacer arm endows the cross-linked chitosan beads with enhanced binding specificity during chromatographic separations.

On fabrique une matière de support à base de chitosane par réticulation et installation d'un bras espaceur entre la matrice de chitosane et un groupe terminal époxy au niveau de l'extrémité distale dudit bras espaceur. Ledit bras espaceur installé confère, entre autres, aux perles de chitosane réticulé, une spécificité de liaison améliorée au cours de séparations chromatographiques.
