Certain features and aspects are directed to a hydrogel composition comprising at least one polymer with functional groups including alcohol groups, acid groups, and amide groups and where the ratio of the functional alcohol groups to functional acid groups in the hydrogel composition ranges from about 16:1 to about 3:2. In certain examples, a method of repairing an articulating surface in a body using the inventive composition is described. The inventive hydrogel composition can be produced, for example, by blending two or more polymers to achieve the desired ratio of functional groups, reacting at least one polymer with a reagent that results in the formation of alcohol, acid, and/or amide functional groups of the desired ratio, and/or polymerizing at least one monomer to achieve the desired ratio of functional groups.
Selon l'invention, certaines caractéristiques et certains aspects se rapportent à une composition d'hydrogel contenant au moins un polymère qui comporte des groupes fonctionnels comprenant des groupes alcool, des groupes acide, et des groupes amide, et où le rapport des groupes alcool fonctionnels aux groupes acide fonctionnels dans la composition d'hydrogel se situe dans la plage d'environ 16:1 à environ 3:2. Certains exemples selon l'invention concernent un procédé de réparation d'une surface d'articulation dans un corps à l'aide de la composition. La composition d'hydrogel de l'invention peut être obtenue, par exemple, par mélange d'au moins deux polymères pour parvenir au rapport désiré de groupes fonctionnels, réaction d'au moins un polymère avec un réactif qui conduit à la formation de groupes fonctionnels alcool, acide et/ou amide du rapport désiré, et/ou polymérisation d'au moins un monomère pour parvenir au rapport désiré de groupes fonctionnels.
