ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hydrogen generator comprises a U-tube electrolysis unit, the hydrogen being produced in one side and oxygen in the other. The hydrogen is passed from the unit through filter chambers for preventing the final discharge of acid or of water and the hydrogen is stored in a tank containing lanthanum- nickel alloy for increasing the storage capacity.
