Apparatus and processes for the generation of hydrogen from hydrocarbon feeds are provided in which organosulfur compound is removed from the feed. The apparatus and processes are particularly advantageous as smaller scale hydrogen generators including those generators intended for residential use to produce hydrogen for fuel cells to produce electricity. In the processes and apparatus, the feed is contacted with solid sorbent to remove organosulfur compound.

L'invention concerne des dispositifs et des procédés permettant de produire de l'hydrogène à partir de charges hydrocarbures, où les composés organo-sulfurés sont éliminés de la charge. Les dispositifs et les procédés sont particulièrement avantageux comme générateurs d'hydrogène de moindres dimensions comprenant ces générateurs destinés à l'usage domestique pour produire de l'hydrogène pour des piles à combustible pour produire de l'électricité. Dans lesdits procédés et dispositifs, la charge est mise au contact de sorbants solides afin d'éliminer les composés organo-sulfurés.
