Provided is a hydrogen occlusion alloy suitable for a negative electrode material of a closed type nickel hydride secondary cell in which the increase of gas pressure in the cell during overcharging is prevented and self discharge in the open circuit state would be effectively inhibited, being represented by the following compositional formula: ANiaCobMncXd wherein A is a misch metal containing not more than 60% by weight of Ce, X is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Al, Cu, Mo and Zn, and a, b, c and d are numbers satisfying the following relations: 0.4 <b<2.0, 0~c<0.2, 0.1<d<2.0, and 4.55<a+b+c+d<4.80.

Alliage avec occlusion d'hydrogène, utile comme matériau pour électrode négative de pile secondaire d'hydrure de nickel de type fermé, dans laquelle l'augmentation de la pression gazeuse pendant la surcharge est évitée, tout comme la décharge spontanée dans le circuit ouvert; l'alliage a la formule ANiaCobMncXd, où A est un mischmétal ne renfermant pas plus de 60 % en poids de Ce; X est au moins un élément choisi dans le groupe constitué d'Al, Cu, Mo et Zn; a, b, c et d sont des nombres régis par les relations 0,4 < b < 2,0, 0 ~ c < 0,2, 0,1 < d < 2,0, et 4,55 < a+b+c+d < 4.80.
