Raw lead to be refined is leached in a leach apparatus with a leach solution containing fluoro compounds, in particular ferric fluorotitanate. During the leaching step, lead is dissolved, with ferric fluoro compounds being reduced to ferrous fluoro compounds. The leaching solution resulting from the leaching step is sent to the cathodic compartment of a diaphragm cell in which lead is deposited on a cathode, in compact, highly pure form. The solution that is depleted of lead is sent to the anodic compartment in which a suitable anode oxidizes the ferrous fluoro compound to ferric fluoro compounds that can be recycled to the leaching step. A process for electrorefining of lead from a lead source, e.g. a lead bullion, comprises electrolyzing an anode (lead bullion) or an electrolyte containing a fluorotitanate compound and depositing refined lead on a cathode.

L'invention concerne du plomb brut à raffiner, qui est lixivié dans un appareil de lixiviation au moyen d'une solution de lixiviation contenant des composés fluorés. Au cours de l'étape de lixiviation, on dissout du plomb, des composés fluorés ferriques étant réduits en composés fluorés ferreux. La solution de lixiviation résultant de l'étape de lixiviation est envoyée au compartiment cathodique d'une cellule à diaphragme dans laquelle du plomb est déposé sur une cathode, sous une forme compacte et très pure. La solution qui est appauvrie en plomb est envoyée au compartiment anodique dans lequel une anode appropriée oxyde les composés fluorés ferreux en composés fluorés ferriques, lesquels peuvent être recyclés à l'étape de lixiviation. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'électroraffinage du plomb d'une source de plomb, par exemple du plomb d'oeuvre, qui consiste à électrolyser une anode (plomb d'oeuvre) ou un électrolyte contenant un composé fluorotitanate, puis à déposer le plomb raffiné sur une cathode.
