The invention relates to hydrophilic, aliphatic polyurethane foams that can be obtained by reacting specific prepolymers low in monomers and optionally oligomeric isocyanides in the presence of water and catalysts. Due to the absorption properties, the hydrophilic polyurethane foams are particularly suited for the production of wound dressings, cosmetic articles or incontinence products.
