ABSTRACT HYDROPHILIC LENS TINTING AND COLOURING APPARATUS A method and apparatus for the colouring or tinting of contact lenses ameliorates the problem of there being a gradual fading of one colour into an adjacent one. A support is provided to closely match one of the surfaces of the lens. Associated with the support is a mask which delineates one or more select- ed areas of the soft contact lens being treated by providing one or more peripheral zones of compression within the lens. These prevent the migration of an applied colouring or tinting medium thereacross.
