Polypropylene fibers and devices that include a fatty acid monoglyceride added to the polypropylene as a melt additive are described. A hydrophilic enhancer material can be advantageously added to the polypropylene as a melt additive to enhance the hydrophilicity of the fibers and devices. An antimicrobial enhancer material can be added to the fibers to enhance the antimicrobial activity.

Cette invention concerne des fibres et des dispositifs de polypropylène renfermant un acide gras monoglycéride ajouté aux polypropylènes comme adjuvant fondu. Un matériau amplificateur d'hydrophilicité peut être avantageusement ajouté au polypropylène comme adjuvant fondu dans le but d'accentuer l'hydrophilicité des fibres et des dispositifs. On peut également ajouter aux fibres un matériau destiné à amplifier l'activité antimicrobienne.
