ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention envolves a nonrinse type hydrophilic surface-treating process capable of imparting hydrophilicity to the surface of a metal material and, at the same time, forming thereon a coating excelling in resistance to corro- sion. The agent used in the process is a aqueous solution which contains Cr ion (III, VI), F- , SiO2 and acrylic acid polymer, and PO4-3, if necessary. An A? article treated the agent is suitable for fins of a heat exchanger. - 1 -
