ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is disclosed of manufacturing an oil absorbing material by introducing waxed cardboard into a hammer mill to produce a fluffy hydrophobic and/or hydrophillic cellulosic material having the wax distributed throughout fluffy cellulose fibers, and the material produced thereby. Also disclosed is a method of producing kitty litter by introducing a mixture of curtain coated waxed cardboard and paper into a hammer mill and thereafter forming the product from the hammer mill into a dense solid, and the product produced thereby. Pellets and briquettes are disclosed.
