A system and method for treating onychomycosis and skin conditions such as urushiol-induced allergic contact dermatitis comprises coating the affected nail or skin with a solution comprising an at least a primary diamine with modified diphenylmethane diisocyanates and a carrier solvent/reactant. A secondary diamine may be mixed with the primary diamine in an oligomeric, stoichiometrically balanced blend. Upon topical application, the carrier solvent/reactant evaporates, allowing polymerization of the remaining solution constituents to form a non-toxic, hydrophobic, elastomeric polyureathane linked copolymer coating that provides a barrier against moisture impregnation, inhibiting the growth of dermatophytes and urushiol-infected skin cells.
L'invention concerne un système et une méthode pour traiter une onychomycose et des troubles dermiques, notamment une dermatite de contact allergique induite par de l'urushiol. Cette méthode consiste à appliquer, sur l'ongle ou sur la peau lésée, une solution comprenant au moins une diamine primaire présentant des diisocyanates de diphénylméthane modifiés et un solvant/réactif excipient. Une diamine secondaire peut être mélangée à la diamine primaire dans un mélange oligomère stoechiométriquement équilibré. Lors d'une application topique, le solvant/réactif excipient s'évapore, ce qui permet une polymérisation des constituants de solution restants pour former un revêtement copolymère élastomère, hydrophobe et non toxique, relié à du polyuréthanne, qui constitue une barrière contre une imprégnation d'humidité. Cette réaction permet d'inhiber la croissance de dermatophytes et de cellules dermiques infectées par de l'urushiol.
