The invention relates to a hydrophobic permeable composite, to a method for producing a hydrophobic permeable composite and to the use of said composite in various processes. Hydrophobic, permeable materials have been known for some time. Plastic materials especially, for example Gore-Tex, but also materials consisting of other organic polymers are used whenever a material is required to be gas- and steam-permeable but not liquid-permeable. These materials have the disadvantage that they can only be used within a certain temperature range. The inventive composite is characterised by a higher temperature resistance since it consists mainly of inorganic materials. It is also relatively easy to produce since it can be obtained using the sol-gel technique. The inventive composite can be used as a membrane in the oxidation of aromatics, for example in the direct oxidation of benzene to phenol.
L'invention concerne un matériau hydrophobe perméable à des substances, un procédé permettant de le produire et son utilisation dans différents processus. Les matériaux hydrophobes perméables à des substances sont connus depuis longtemps. On utilise avant tout des matériaux à base de matière plastique, comme par ex. le Gore-Tex?, mais également à base d'autres polymères organiques, lorsqu'on souhaite laisser passer des substances telles que des gaz ou de la vapeur, mais pas de liquides. Ces matériaux présentent l'inconvénient de ne pouvoir s'utiliser que dans une plage de températures limitée. Le matériau composite mis au point selon l'invention se caractérise en ce qu'il est extrêmement thermorésistant, étant donné qu'il se compose dans une large mesure de matériaux inorganiques. Comme ce matériau composite s'obtient par technique sol-gel, ledit matériau composite est relativement aisé à produire. Ce matériau composite s'utilise comme membrane lors de l'oxydation d'aromatiques, par ex. dans le cadre de la diorectoxydation de benzène en phénol.
