ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides pesticidal preparation based on a particulate hydrolisable phosphide, of a suitable type for pest control purposes and which on contact with moisture releases hydrogen phosphide, rendered hydrophobic by a hydrophobising agent and, where appropriate, comprising substances which by thermal decomposition form gases and/or other conventional additives, the preparation being rendered hydrophobic by the hydrophobising action of a silicon-organic compound which comprises directly bonded to silicon one or ore hydrogen atoms, halogen atoms or groups -OR1, wherein R1 represents hydrogen or a hydrocarbon moiety.
