ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Hydrorefining of petroleum stocks containing asphaltenes, sulfur and nitrogen with an extruded refractory inorganic oxide catalyst support wherein said support is prepared by admixing a peptizing agent, a surfactant, and a water-insoluble particulate organic polymer having a particle size of from about 1 to about 200 microns with a powdered re- fractory inorganic oxide and extruding the resulting mixture.
