ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hydrostatic adjusting device, more particularly for carrying out adjustments under load, the device has at least one force-resolving wedge which co-operates, through a fluid work- ing medium, supplied under pressure, with supporting elements preferably comprising a pair of sliding surfaces and at least one adjusting element in that the wedge and adjusting member are arranged in series as a load-chain; and in that at least one supporting element, and the end of the load-chain remote from the wedge are fixed at a specific distance one from the other.
