ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The source support 3, 8 is mounted relative to the base 16 by means of spring elements 15. It comprises a support member 8 and a bearing plate 3 with the bearing surface, a bearing pocket 4 and a choke bore 5. The support member 8 and the bearing plate 3 are movable relatively to each other in the supporting direction and together define a pressure chamber 7 through which the load-bearing pressure fluid is passed to the choke bore 5. A spring 12 is provided which pulls the bearing plate 3 and the support member 8 towards each other counter to the force produced by the pressure chamber 7. The displacement distance between the bearing plate 3 and the support member 8 is greater than the displacement distance between the support member 8 and the base 16. In this way, the bearing plate 3 is resiliently pressed against the machine part to be supported, in operation, but if the supply of pressure fluid fails it is pulled away from the machine part so that no wear can occur.
