ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE To achieve accurate calibration and diagnosis of a hydrostatic tank gauge system comprising pressure sensors connected to the tank at levels separated by a fixed height, a stand pipe of flexible tubing is connected to the sensors by opening valves when block valves disconnect the tank. Then, a calibration fluid such as distilled water traceable to a standards organization is introduced under gravity by way of a disconnectable column through the bottom of the stand pipe. Then, by using the precise knowledge of the fluid properties and readings from the sensors and temperature sensors various aspects of the system can be calibrated and checked.
