Description

The present invention pertains to a sulfur-containing catalyst composition suitable for the hydrotreating of hydrocarbon feeds which comprises a Group VIB metal component selected from molybdenum, tungsten, and mixtures thereof, a Group V metal component selected from vanadium, niobium, tantalum, and mixtures thereof, and a Group VIII metal component selected from nickel, cobalt, iron, and mixtures thereof, the metal components (calculated as oxides) making up at least 50 wt.% of the catalyst, wherein the molar ratio between the metal components satisfies the following formula: (Group VIB + Group V):(Group VIII) = 0.5-2:1. This catalyst has been found to show a high activity in sulfur removal in combination with good aromatics removal properties.

L'invention concerne une composition de catalyseur comprenant du soufre et conçue pour hydrotraiter des charges d'hydrocarbures comprenant un composant métallique du Groupe VIB sélectionné parmi le molybdène, le tungstène et des mélanges de ceux-ci, un composant métallique du Groupe V sélectionné parmi le vanadium, le niobium, le tantale et des mélanges de ceux-ci et un composant métallique du Groupe VIII sélectionné parmi le nickel, le cobalt, le fer et des mélanges de ceux-ci, les composants métalliques (calculés comme oxydes) constituant jusqu'à au moins 50 % en poids du catalyseur, le rapport molaire entre les composants métalliques répondant à la formule suivante: (Groupe VIB + Groupe V):(Groupe VIII) = 0.5-2:1. Ce catalyseur possède une activité élevée dans l'élimination de soufre conjointement avec de bonnes propriétés d'élimination d'aromatiques.
