The present invention relates to hydroxamic acid derivatives of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate thereof, wherein X is (II) or (III); Y is CR1R2, NR3 or O; R, R1, R2 and R3 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-C9 straight or branched chain alkyl, C2- C9 straight or branched chain alkenyl, C3-C9 cycloalkyl, C5-C7 cycloalkenyl and Ar, pharmaceutical compositions comprising such derivatives, and methods of using such derivatives to inhibit NAALADase activity, to treat a glutamate abnormality and to treat a prostate disease in an animal.

L'invention concerne des dérivés d'acide hydroxamique de formule (I), ou bien un sel ou un hydrate pharmaceutiquement acceptables de ceux-ci.
