Aqueous grinding compositions comprising particulate solid and hydroxy- carboxylic acids of five to six carbon atoms containing at least three hydroxyl groups and from one to two carboxyl groups or their soluble salts as grinding aids. Processes of wet grinding employing said grinding aids and processes of metal recovery employing grinding and froth flotation. The grinding aids can be added as such or formed in situ by the oxidation of saccharides.
L'invention concerne des compositions aqueuses de broyage contenant des particules solides et des acides hydroxy-carboxyliques de cinq à six atomes renfermant au moins trois groupes hydroxyle et un à deux groupes carboxyle ou leurs sels solubles comme agents de mouture. L'invention concerne également des procédés de broyage humides utilisant lesdits agents de mouture et des procédés de récupération de métal utilisant le broyage et la flotation à la mousse. Les agents de mouture peuvent être ajoutés tels quels ou être produits in situ par l'oxydation de saccharides.
