HYDROXYALKYL CARBAMATE DILUENT FOR COATING COMPOSITIONS AND COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME ABSTRACT A coating composition comprises an hydroxyalkyl carbamate compound, an amino cross-linker, a polymer con- taining active sites which are reactive with the crosslinker and, optionally, an acid catalyst. The hydroxyalkyl carba- mate compound serves as a reactive diluent in the compo- sition. The composition is stable at ambient temperature and reactive at elevated temperature to form a cross-linked compound in which the hydroxyalkyl carbamate compound is incorporated.
