Coating compositions contain hydroxyl- or carbamate functional resins with a relatively low equivalent weight. The resins are based on a polyol core containing urea and hydroxyl groups, and made by reacting a polyisocyanate, preferably a triisocyanate, with an amino functional polyol, preferably a polyol having one amino group and two or more hydroxyl groups. The polyol core may be further extended to a first or higher generation dendrimer or hyperbranched structure by reacting the initial polyol core with a compound having one carboxyl group and two or more hydroxyl groups.
L'invention concerne des compositions de revêtement qui contiennent des résines à fonction hydroxyle ou carbamate ayant un poids équivalent relativement faible. Lesdites résines comportent un noyau de polyol renfermant de l'urée et des groupes hydroxyle. Elles résultent d'une réaction entre un polyisocyanate, de préférence un triisocyanate, et un polyol à fonction amine, de préférence un polyol ayant un groupe amine et deux ou plus de deux groupes hydroxyle. Le noyau de polyol peut être étendu jusqu'au stade de dendrimère de la première génération ou d'une génération supérieure ou bien de structure ultra-ramifiée, par réaction entre le noyau de polyol initial et un composé ayant un groupe carboxyle et deux ou plus de deux groupes hydroxyle.
