Hydroxyl functional oil polyols are disclosed which can be used to produce coating compositions and coated surfaces. In some embodiments, the coating compositions are used to coat substrates such as packaging materials and the like for the storage of food and beverages. The hydroxyl functional oil polyols can be prepared by reacting an epoxidized vegetable oil with a hydroxyl functional material in the presence of an acid catalyst. Coating compositions can be prepared by crosslinking the hydroxyl functional oil polyols with a crosslinker.
La présente invention concerne des polyols d'huiles hydroxylée convenant à la production de compositions de revêtement et de surfaces enduites. Dans certains modes de réalisation, ces compositions de revêtement conviennent à l'enduction de substrats tels que des matériaux d'emballage et analogues pour le stockage d'aliments et de boissons. De tels polyols d'huiles hydroxylées peuvent s'élaborer en faisant réagir une huile végétale époxydée avec une matière hydroxylée en présence d'un catalyseur acide. Les compositions de revêtement peuvent s'élaborer par réticulation des polyols d'huiles hydroxylées au moyen d'un réticulant.
