This invention relates to methods for prevention of cancers, certain non- cancer, hormone dependent diseases and/or cardiovascular diseases in a person, based on administering of hydroxymatairesinol to said person. The invention also concerns a method for increasing the level of enterolactone or another metabolite of hydroxymatairesinol in a person's serum thereby causing prevention of a cancer or a certain non-cancer, hormone dependent disease in a person, based on administering of hydroxymatairesinol to said person. Furthermore, this invention relates to pharmaceutical preparations, food additives and food products comprising hydroxymatairesinol.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant la prévention de cancers, de certaines affections hormonodépendantes non cancéreuses et/ou certaines affections cardio-vasculaires d'une personne, consistant en l'administration d'hydroxymatairésinol à catte personne. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'augmenter le niveau d'entérolactone ou d'un autre métabolite de l'hydroxymatairésinol dans le sérum d'une personne de façon à provoquer la prévention d'un cancer ou d'une certaine affection hormonodépendante non cancéreuse chez cette personne et consistant en l'administration d'hydroxymatairésinol à catte personne. L'invention concerne enfin des préparations pharmaceutiques, des additifs alimentaires et des produits alimentaires comprenant de l'hydroxymatairésinol.
