A B S T R A C T A hygienic protecting shield is disclosed for use as seat shields, protecting gloves, shields for thermometers or other temperature sensitivity means, and shields for other instruments. The shield comprises two adjacent plastic foils attached to each other to form a space for receiving and en- closing an object, and at least two covering foils arranged on each side of the two-layer plastic foils. The two-layer plastic foils are on each side provided with covering paper foils, which are removably attached to the plastic foils at least along a heat sealing line forming the object-receiving space. The paper foils are arranged to be removed immediately before use of the shield, and the plastic foils at their open end are each further provided with one stiffening plastic strip arranged to overlap the covering paper foils of the plastic foils.
