Abstract A hypocaloric food composition In a hypocaloric food composition containing lipids, the lipids are completely or partly replaced by a caloric moderator consisting of an ester of a fatty acid and an aliphatic polyol other than glycerol. The caloric moderator is not hydrolyzed by the gastro- intestinal hydrolases and, accordingly, is not absorbed by the organism. The caloric moderator has physicochemical properties similar to those of lipids, produces a feeling of fullness and does not disturb the intestinal transit.
