ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The novel compound 4-(4'-chlorobenzyloxy) benzyl nicotinate and its pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts are disclosed as hypolipidemic agents. The compound is prepared by reaction of 4-(4'-chlorobenzyloxy) benzyl alcohol and nicotinoyl halide or its hydrohalide.
