ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A first spring member is provided. One end of the first spring member is fixed to the frame of a IC card reader and other end thereof is urged to the passageway of the IC card. A second spring member is arranged over the other end of the first spring member, which is come into contact with the other end of the first spring member by a elevating displacement thereof due to the insertion of the IC card. An electric conduction is performed between both spring members and a detection signal indicative of the completion of the insertion of the IC card to the predetermined position is obtained.
