The contact error of a contact section which is brought into contact with an IC card is detected reliably. The level of a reset signal which is supplied to a reset terminal (RST) of an integrated circuit (21) mounted on the IC card (20) through a contact section (11) is controlled to be low and, also, the level of a clock signal which is supplied to a clock terminal (CLK) of the integrated circuit (21) through the contact section (11) is controlled to be low. After that, power for the integrated circuit (21) is supplied to a power supply terminal (Vcc) of the integrated circuit (21) through the contact section (11). At that time, the voltage which is outputted from an I/O terminal (I/O) of the integrated circuit (21) through the contact section (11) is compared with a predetermined reference level by a comparator (16). When the voltage is lower than the predetermined reference level, it is judged to be contact error of the contact section.

Ce procédé permet de détecter de manière fiable une erreur de contact survenant dans une section de contact venant en contact avec une carte de CI. Le niveau d'un signal de remise à zéro fourni à la borne de remise à zéro (RST) d'un circuit intégré (21) monté sur la carte de CI (20) via une section de contact (11), est maintenu bas, de même que le niveau d'un signal d'horloge fourni à une borne d'horloge (CLK) du circuit intégré (21) par une section de contact (11). L'énergie nécessaire au circuit intégré (21) est ensuite amenée à une borne d'alimentation (Vcc) du circuit intégré (21) par la section de contact (11). A ce moment la tension fournie à la borne d'entrée/sortie (I/O) du circuit intégré (21) par la section de contact (11) est comparée avec un niveau de référence prédéterminé par un comparateur (16). Lorsque la tension est inférieure à ce niveau prédéterminé, le résultat est considéré comme une erreur de contact située au niveau de la section de contact.
