Article of effervescent frozen confectionery producing a fizzing sensation in the mouth, in which effervescence is obtained by the rapid reaction of reagents forming carbon dioxide gas, from frozen granulates or granitas containing the reagents. The articles are manufactured by metering granitas containing effervescent reagents into moulds, tamping and spiking the granitas, inserting a liquid composition into the interstices produced by the spike, depositing a stick, ejecting from the mould and wrapping.
