ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An ice dispenser for a refrigeration apparatus comprises a container for storing ice bodies, the container having a front access opening. A housing at the front access opening has a space for dispensing ice bodies. An ice conveyor transfers ice bodies stored in the container to this space by means of a wire auger with an inner end rotatably coupled at a rear wall of the container and an outer end, and a rotatable drum dispenser in the housing having a center hub receiving this outer end and being rotatable therewith. A pair of opposed, helical blade augers extend between the hub and a cylindrical outer wall. A baffle is mounted outwardly of the drum dispenser and has a planar outer wall with an enlarged opening between the drum dispenser and the dispensing space, the opening being generally arcuate and extending partially about the center of the outer wall, and having a cutoff edge oriented away from this center. The wire auger and drum dispenser are rotated to deliver ice bodies from the container to the dispensing space whereby the spacing of the blade auger outer edges and the orientation of the opening cutoff edge prevent ice bodies from wedging between the blade augers and the baffle.
