- 21 - ICE FISHING RIG ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention consists of a standard extending upwardly from the ice surface and having an inverted U-shaped tube on the upper end. A flag with a counter- weight is pivoted to the standard and an elastic cord extends through the U-shaped tube and is anchored by one end thereof to the standard. The other end has a ring which engages a trigger which in turn rests against the underside of the counter-weight portion when in the load- ed position and a fishing line is secured to the trigger. When a fish strikes, the fishing line pulls against the trigger and disengages it from the counter-weight so that the elastic cord can retract and set the hook. At the same time the counter-weight causes the flag to elevate thus signaling a strike.
