An ice fishing rod holder suitable for holding an ice fishing rod with handle, and comprising a rectangular base, an upright support and a sleeve. The base rests on a supporting surface, the weight and flat surface of the metal base in conjunction with the angle of the sleeve provides the means to hold the fishing rod securely even when a strong downward force is applied by fish strike. The upright support is a cylindrical pipe rising vertically; its bottom end is attached perpendicularly to the top surface and near the end of the base. The sleeve is an open-ended cylindrical pipe attached at an obtuse angle to the top end of the upright support. The sleeve is positioned centered and parallel to the base rising up and away from the base. The rod handle is inserted in the sleeve's open end; the rod held secure, accessible and retrievable.
