A support structure for ice fishing, either with a tip-up or with a fishing rod, comprising a pair of longitudinal leg elements, hinge means mounted as a hinging connection between an end of each leg element so the legs may be positioned into a juxtaposed closed collapsed position, for storage, or at a relatively angulated open operative position, leg fixation means for fixedly locating the legs at their relative angulated open operative position, an uprising support element adapted for connection to the legs when in the open operative position, said uprising support element extending to a predetermined elevation above the legs and whose upper end is disposed in a vertical prolongation above an area disposed between the legs and, said support means carrying means for disposing a fishing line essentially parallel with said vertical prolongation so that the fishing line may extend downward and between the legs.
