The method is for the identification and characterization of structures in electron micrographs. Structures in a first image are selected. The structures have a first shape type deformed in a first direction. The selected structures are transformed to a second shape type different from the first shape type. The transformed structures of the second shape type are used to form a plurality of templates. A new structure in a second image is identified. The new structure has the first shape type. The second shape type structure of each template is deformed in the first direction. It is determined which template is a preferred template that best matches the new structure.
La présente invention a trait à l'identification et la caractérisation de structures dans des micrographes électroniques. Des structures dans une première image sont sélectionnées. Les structures présentent un premier type de forme déformée dans une première direction. Les structures sélectionnées sont transformées en un deuxième type de forme différent du premier type de forme. Les structures transformées du deuxième type de forme sont utilisées pour former une pluralité de modèles. Une nouvelle structure dans une deuxième image est identifiée. La nouvelle structure présente le premier type de forme. La structure de deuxième type de forme de chaque modèle est déformée dans la première direction. On détermine quel modèle constitue le modèle préféré qui correspond le mieux à la nouvelle structure.
