ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An identification bracelet to be locked to a limb of a patient comprises a flat flexible band having a strap portion and a compartment portion adapted to receive an identification label therein. The compartment portion is closed on three sides and has an open end adapted to receive therethrough the label and the free end of the strap. A pair of openings is provided on the top wall of the compartment portion, one opening serving to receive a detent which extends through the opening and through a strap hole in registry with the opening; the other opening of the compartment, located adjacent the first opening, serves for the passage of the free end of the strap. The identification label is so shaped as to be fitted into the compartment, to permit insertion of the detent and to ensure its own securement in the compartment.
