It is intended to provide an identification marker responsive to IFN therapy for renal cell cancer and a means of detecting the same. Namely, a method which comprises preparing the genomic DNA sequence of a human gene or a complementary chain thereof from a specimen of a patient with renal cell cancer, analyzing the DNA sequence of the genomic DNA or the complementary chain thereof to determine the gene polymorphism of the human gene, and judging the tumor-reduction effect of IFN therapy on renal cell cancer by using the polymorphism as an indication.

La présente invention a pour objet un marqueur d~identification sensible à la thérapie aux IFN dans le traitement de cancers des cellules rénales, ainsi qu~une méthode de détection s~y rapportant. La présente invention décrit plus particulièrement une méthode comprenant la préparation de la séquence d~ADN génomique d~un gène humain, ou d~une chaîne complémentaire dudit gène, à partir d~un cas de patient atteint d'un cancer des cellules rénales, ainsi que l~analyse de la séquence d~ADN de l~ADN génomique, ou de la chaîne complémentaire, pour déterminer le polymorphisme génique du gène humain, et l'évaluation de l'amplitude de l'effet de réduction de la tumeur des cellules rénales par thérapie aux IFN en employant le polymorphisme comme indice.
