A method and system for identifying a computer system's user allows for having a very difficult to guess and easily remembered authentication drawing. The method uses a computer-generated drawing as the authentication code making the code much easy to be memorized and hard to guess. The system comprises a computer terminal with graphic user interface to assist a user to regenerate his/her authentication drawing and a controller with a drawing database coded by user IDs and passwords. The controller compares the stored drawing associated with the use's user ID and password in its database with the one redrawn by the user on the terminal screen to see if there is a match to identify the user. The method gives a new way of increasing the security of a computer system.
