A processor (403) is provided for processing identifiers of video and/or audio material. The processor is for use with a video and/or audio material processing device. The device has a plurality of inputs (IN) for receiving respective pieces of material to be processed, the pieces having respective identifiers, and an output (OUT) at which is output processed material, which is a combination of the input material, and a state output at which data defining the state of the device is output. The processor is arranged to: detect (405) the identifiers of the input material; determine (406) from the state data the combination of the input material forming the output material; generate (407) an identifier for the output material; and associate the identifier of the output material with the identifiers of the input material used to form the output material. Identifiers preferably indicate whether the material emanates from a recorder or from a live source.
L'invention concerne un processeur (403) permettant de traiter des identificateurs de matériau vidéo et/ou audio, ledit processeur étant utilisé avec un dispositif de traitement de matériau vidéo et/ou audio. Ce dispositif comprend une pluralité d'entrées (IN) permettant de recevoir des pièces respectives de matériau à traiter, lesdites pièces comprenant des identificateurs respectifs, et une sortie (OUT) au niveau de laquelle le matériau de sortie est traité, ce matériau étant une combinaison de matériau d'entrée et de sortie d'état au niveau de laquelle les données définissant l'état du dispositif sont sorties. Le processeur est agencé de façon à détecter (405) les identificateurs du matériau d'entrée; à déterminer (406), à partir des données d'état, la combinaison de matériau de sortie formant le matériau d'entrée; à générer (407) un identificateur de matériau de sortie; et à associer l'identificateur du matériau de sortie aux identificateurs du matériau d'entrée utilisé pour former ledit matériau de sortie. Les identificateurs indiquent, de préférence, si le matériau provient d'un dispositif d'enregistrement ou d'une source vivante.
