Identity card that can be used, for example, in a travel document or as a separate card. This identity card consists of at least two core layers (6, 7), preferably of polycarbonate material, that are fused to one another. In each of the core layers there is a recess (12, 13), each of a different size. On assembly these recesses become situated on top of one another and a semiconductor chip (14) is accommodated in the larger recess formed as a result. There is a covering layer (8) fused to at least one of the core layers (6), whilst a layer that can be written on by laser has also been applied. There can be (semi-)transparent windows on top of one another in the core layer and if the covering layer is transparent light can be transmitted, it being possible to apply a specific pattern in the windows.

L'invention concerne une carte d'identité pouvant être utilisée, par exemple, dans un document de voyage ou comme carte séparée. Cette carte d'identité comprend au moins deux couches centrales (6, 7), de préférence de polycarbonate, fusionnées l'une à l'autre. Chacune de ces couches centrales comprend un évidement (12, 13) présentant chacun une taille différente. Lors d'un assemblage, ces évidements sont situés l'un sur l'autre, une puce à semi-conducteur (14) étant alors logée dans l'évidement le plus important. Une couche de recouvrement (8) est fusionnée à l'une au moins des couches centrales (6). Concomitamment, une couche pouvant subir une inscription au moyen d'un laser y est également appliquée. Des fenêtres (semi-)transparentes situées les unes sur les autres peuvent être utilisées. Ainsi, si la couche de recouvrement est transparente, la lumière peut être transmise, d'où la possibilité de former un motif spécifique dans ces fenêtres.
